So, let's try something new. You comment with a prompt, and I'll write to it. You may ask for wisdom or magic or leave it up to me. You can leave one word, a whole paragraph or more, you may post a real or fictional problem or dilemma, whatever you want. I will write and post at least one thing free. If I make $50 in tips, you get one wisdom piece and one magic piece guaranteed. If I go over $100, you'll get at least two of each type of work. If tips go still higher, I'll add more incentives! (And feel free to suggest incentives; this is a trial run, after all!)
If you are new here, here's a good example of a wisdom piece and here's a pretty detailed description of a magical ritual I created.
A few important things to note:
1. I am not Wiccan. I don't even consider myself Pagan. I'm an atheist who sees magic as a natural force, like magnetism or electricity, that we simply don't really understand yet. With that in mind, I make NO promises or guarantees; I can design a spell, but I can't make it work if it's not gonna work. I will not design a spell that might, by my estimate, be harmful to anyone or anything. I have no ethical problem with charging for my magical services, as I consider them to be the same as any other skill or talent that a person is free to use to support him or herself.
2. I am not a doctor or a lawyer or a psychiatrist, and what you do with any advice I give you is completely and totally your responsibility. I advise to the best of my ability from considerable life experience and education. Your choices are yours to make.
3. I am a SAHM with two small boys and limited time. I'm leaving this open for a full 24 hours so that all time zones get a shot. I will do my best to write as quickly as possible, but quality is more important, I think we can all agree, so while I will promise that SOMETHING will be up within 24 hours, it may be a week or two or even more (if prompts get really crazy) before I'm done. I'm not promising to write for everyone this time, though I will do my best. I will give you a small preview or summary of what I create and how much it costs; anyone (prompter or not) may purchase anything I've created for public OR private viewing. All ownership and copyright remains with me; your purchase allows you the same level of use you would have of a book you have purchased; you may not profit from my work or remove my attribution.
So, do you have a problem you are struggling with? Feel free to share it Dear Abby style. Maybe your fictional character(s) have problems they need advice on? Again, ask! Is there simply a word you want to eek all the wisdom out of? Try me! Do you think a magical spell or ritual might help you out? Let me know and I'll see what I can design for you!
Please help me help you and support my family at the same time!
I need something to help increase my family's income, please.

Family decisions to be made.

Kitrona, do you or your spouse want a job or customers?
Posted by: Jenny S. | 08/23/2011 at 04:12 PM
Jake...Um. I think I need a bit more to work with there...what about them?
Posted by: Jenny S. | 08/23/2011 at 04:16 PM
Kitrona, I went ahead and created a more general spell for you and posted it as the first freebie of this event. I hope it helps!

My dad has early-onset Alzheimers... Mom's not in the best health, but "ok". They live 8 hours away... :-s... Mom will need some help, probably sooner than later.
They are looking maybe to sell, but don't want to come to my state. Not really sure if I want to go to theirs.
*sigh*
Posted by: Jake67jake | 08/23/2011 at 05:33 PM
Okay, Jake. I'll work on something along the lines of finding a happy compromise for you.
Posted by: Jenny S. | 08/23/2011 at 05:50 PM
I need a spell/ritual for strength - emotional and spiritual.
Of course, money would be awesome too. It's a whole lot easier to be strong when you've got money in your pocket. Yeah, strike the strength and go for money.
Posted by: Missy Pratt | 08/23/2011 at 06:12 PM
I wish I could materialize money from nothin', but I'm not THAT good! I'll do the strength one...I think you need it more anyway. (But I'll see what I can do on the money one, too.)
Posted by: Jenny S. | 08/23/2011 at 06:22 PM
Missy, this is just for you. Sit outside, facing west, drink a cup of Earl Grey tea and tie eight knots into a green ribbon. As you tie each knot, think about or say aloud how you need money and wish for it to be drawn to you. When you have finished the knots, dump the rest of the tea into the earth in front of you, then bury the ribbon in a metal box where you dumped the tea. If you can, plant some basil over it and tend it faithfully.

Hmmm... Getting out of a creative slump. I'll leave it up to you as to wisdom or ritual/spell.
Thanks!

Jake, your spell is built. It is designed to solve a conundrum and make all parties content. It costs $8. You have to be willing to do it (it involves meditating at a crossroads) and take it seriously for it to be effective! :)
Posted by: Jenny S. | 08/23/2011 at 08:02 PM
Ariestess, I wanted to write an essay, but it was a ritual that called to me, so I have designed one for you. It involves the magic of larch and peridot and including carving as part of the process. It costs $8.
Posted by: Jenny S. | 08/23/2011 at 08:36 PM
FYI, it's time for dinner and I'll probably not get back before morning. Please continue to leave your prompts so I have plenty to work on when I wake up! :)
Posted by: Jenny S. | 08/23/2011 at 08:41 PM
I'd love something to connect with my deities (Egyptian Pantheon), preferably a ritual but if an essay calls to you more strongly then please do what you need :)
Posted by: Eccentricfurry | 08/23/2011 at 09:49 PM
EccentricFurry, thank you! Designing this will be fun, as Egyptology has always been an interest of mine. :)
Posted by: Jenny S. | 08/24/2011 at 07:56 AM
EccentricFurry...as I started to work, I realized that I really should ask you which of the Egyptian deities you specifically work with; there are a number that may or may not be part of your personal pantheon, after all!
Posted by: Jenny S. | 08/24/2011 at 08:56 AM
Just sent you $10 :). You can either email me or PM it on LJ. I'm not sure what you "normally" do.
Jake :)
Posted by: Jake67jake | 08/24/2011 at 09:51 AM
Jake, awesome! Well, usually I'd post it to the blog; you are not only getting it for yourself, but sponsoring it for the rest of my readers as well. If you want it privately, I usually charge a little extra...which you gave me since you overpaid, so what would you like me to do? I can put the extra $2 into the general pool, which I'll use to sponsor other selections if it gets large enough, if you want.
Posted by: Jenny S. | 08/24/2011 at 10:20 AM
OK.. normal is fine :)... Like I said.. I didn't know.
:)... the $2 is your "tip"--yours to do with as you please. Knock yourself out with it ... LOL... go get 1/2 gallon of gas or something.. :-s

So, I have a question... would the ritual for Missy work for me too? or is it that personalized for her? Or would it work, but not as well, since it's not for me? You have to remember ignorant follower here... :).

I could use a blessing for a new-to-me automobile. In that blessing, I'd like there to be thanks given to the previous owner (an elderly fellow no longer with us).
Posted by: The-vulture | 08/24/2011 at 12:40 PM
Actually, just a blessing will do. I already had a conversation with the car's previous owner, thanking him for how well he took care of the car and pledging to do likewise.
Posted by: The-vulture | 08/24/2011 at 12:49 PM
Jake, okeydoke! I'll keep the money in the general pool. My fault for not being clear in my description! :)
By "just for you", I meant both that, because she's my friend and I know she can't pay for it, I'll give her a total freebie and also that this was designed specifically for her. Some spells are applicable to anyone, some only to a specific person, most are some ratio of the two. The spell I wrote for Missy will work best for her, but should also work for other people. Thanks for asking, actually, because I thought about detailing that for other readers but didn't get to it! :)
The Vulture - Got it on my list! Should be done this afternoon yet. :)

Your spell is posted, Jake! http://jennywise.typepad.com/blog/2011/08/solve-a-conundrum.html
Posted by: Jenny S. | 08/24/2011 at 02:15 PM
The Vulture, this one didn't take much time at all, so I give it to you.
Feverfew Car Blessing
Sprinkle dried feverfew over the car, with a simple invocation to “keep this car and its occupants safe”, and then take some of the feverfew and keep it in your glove compartment. This should protect both car and occupants from accidents.
I also came up with a Powerful Charm for Travelers; it's not easy to make, but it should be worth it. This is available for $8.
Posted by: Jenny S. | 08/24/2011 at 02:42 PM
Missy, I have designed a Strengthening Charm using oak wood and paint; the cost is $10. I also came up with a Strengthening Bath, which includes vervain and fennel; the cost is $5.

Sorry about that, I didn't see the request for more info! A better job for my husband... he's got a part-time one, but it's not enough to actually live on, and while I may get a part time job, I'm disabled, so I can't do much.
Posted by: Kitrona | 08/24/2011 at 06:09 PM
No problem, Kitrona. The spell I posted should work just fine for you, then! :)

Thank you for creating the ritual. Unfortunately, I have checked my finances and can't eke out the $8 for it. But I do appreciate that you created it.
Posted by: Ariestess | 08/24/2011 at 11:10 PM
No problem, Ariestess. Someone else can still sponsor it, or I am planning to put out an annual (probably ebook the first year at least) of the work that doesn't get published otherwise myself. :)
Posted by: Jenny S. | 08/25/2011 at 07:17 AM
Awesome, thank you! Now if he could get an interview I'd slather him with it. :)
Posted by: Kitrona | 08/25/2011 at 07:02 PM
Kitrona...Hrm, yes. You could rub a bit into the paper his resume is on, making sure to let it dry thoroughly! Good luck.
Posted by: Jenny S. | 08/25/2011 at 10:01 PM
Hi Jenny, sorry about the delay in answering you!
I work most with my "Mothers" Bast and HetHert (Hathor)-Sekhmet, and my "Beloveds" Aset (Isis)-Serquet and Amunet. But especially the first two :)
Posted by: Eccentricfurry | 08/26/2011 at 05:11 PM
Yay! I was worried I'd lost you. :) Okay, I can do something for all four. That's a lot less than the entire pantheon, so saves a lot of work! :)
Posted by: Jenny S. | 08/26/2011 at 05:14 PM
P.S. I'm heading into a special event weekend here, so I may not get to this until Tuesday, just so you know!
Posted by: Jenny S. | 08/26/2011 at 05:15 PM
Thank you for the spell. :)
Posted by: The-vulture | 08/30/2011 at 08:28 PM
You're welcome! :)

EccentricFurry - My research led to a lot of conflicting information, so I give you this simple set-up free of charge.
You need a small box to fill with sand, ideally one of a wood special to you; as I said, fill it with sand. Take a ceremonial knife and place the point in the middle. Draw upward to the north to summon Bast, calling on whatever of her aspects or qualities you wish to invoke as you do so. Return the knife to the middle, then go south for
HetHert (Hathor)-Sekhmet, east for Aset (Isis)-Serquet, and west for Amunet, each time calling upon those aspects or qualities you wish to invoke. When you have summoned them, you can lay the knife in the middle until you are done, then draw a sun in the middle to end.
I hope you find this useful!
Posted by: Jenny S. | 08/31/2011 at 02:22 PM
Interesting set-up, Jenny. Thank you!
If I may ask, what was some of the conflict you found? Perhaps I can lend some clarity.
I will see what the ritual gets me either way. It seems to be a good focusing-point on them if nothing else :) Thank you very much!
